Human Nature Resolved:
Who Are We?
The True Story of Humanity
IT IS NOT CERTAIN THAT INTELLIGENCE HAS LONG-TERM SURVIVAL VALUE
In ancient times it was accepted that life was tragic. We get into bloody trouble without wanting it. Therefore the first question philosophers asked was “why”, meaning “Who Are We?”, or they commanded “Know Thyself”. It was thought that answers to this and self knowledge could help avoiding tragedies.
For more than 2000 years that quest had to remain unfulfilled. But with the rise of natural science we have begun to fulfill it. Darwin, Ethology and Neuroscience signaled the beginning. Great advances have been made since. But the matter is still befogged by overspecialized academic clans that rarely communicate with each other.
Now, finally, this book puts it all together.
